Restaurant Review

The restaurant
Cambio de Tercio, Old Brompton Road – the first of the Cambio de Tercio Group

Style of food Modern Spanish

Set up Relaxed atmosphere, in a formalish setting and very Spanish. Nibbles on the table of “Lollipops” of aged Manchego cheese, slow baked so they’re thin and crispy and wrapped around sticks, and olives

The food Very good, we went for the tasting menu of 6 courses (£37). Starting with garlicky gazpacho decanted into a bowl of lobster and a scoop of cherry sorbet. And finishing with Iberico pork loin with a Choizo and potato purée. Along with my own body weight in bread rolls

The Drink Great selection of wines if you enjoy Spanish wines. We started with a couple of Sherries and then ordered a bottle of red. The waiter was very pushy and seamed to insist that I only chose the one bottle of wine that he recommended, which happened to be £50

The service Very attentive, if not too attentive at times

Overall The restaurant has a great atmosphere and feels like you are in the heart of Spain (apart from the annoying Americans next to us). The food is modern Spanish yet feels traditional, and is very well executed. I would recommend to all – just be careful with the wine list
